A Village Garden For An Artist
Even in a small garden, it is possible to create a series of ‘rooms’: distinct spaces for different purposes. What we’ve done in this garden is ‘declutter’ the overgrown, dated planting and the narrow enclosing pathways, to create a contemporary, simple but lushly planted outdoor space.
We've created a garden that envelopes the house in a more cohesive way than the original garden layout allowed. The design provides a natural flow between the house and the garden, with more connectivity between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Within the garden, there are a series of 'rooms', which make the garden accessible, useable and beautiful, throughout the day and into the evening. The planting is simple, neutral and contemporary, with a subtle combination of grasses and lush architectural planting, with lime and blue highlights.
